FOPE

FOPE's History—From a Vicenza Goldsmith's Workshop to Flex'it

FOPE's story began in 1929 in Vicenza, Italy's historic goldsmithing center, when Umberto Cazzola opened a small workshop. In its early years the workshop made metal watch straps and cases, supplying some of Switzerland's most prestigious watchmakers and building a reputation for precision. That experience with chains would later become the foundation of FOPE's own jewelry.

Gradually, FOPE moved beyond watch straps toward fine jewelry collections of its own. At the center was the signature Novecento gold mesh chain, gold woven as softly as fabric, which became the house's emblem. In 2000, FOPE opened its new headquarters in Vicenza.

In 2007, the brand introduced its patented Flex'it system. Tiny gold springs are placed between the links of an 18K gold chain, creating bracelets and rings that stretch and move with the wrist or finger, with no clasp needed.

Today, every piece is still made in-house at FOPE's workshop in Vicenza. Now in its fourth generation under the Cazzola family, FOPE is sold in more than 50 countries.

What Our Customers Say About Selling FOPE to ONE OF ONE

One customer bought a Flex'it ring that turned out not to fit well. Other shops said FOPE was hard to buy, but ONE OF ONE confirmed the piece and bought it right away, which let the customer purchase the right size again.

Another customer had owned a Flex'it bracelet for years and rarely wore it. Few places handle FOPE, so they found ONE OF ONE, sent photos first for a consultation, and found the process simple and fast through to the purchase.

A third customer asked several places about a Flex'it ring and kept hearing that the brand was difficult to buy. ONE OF ONE reviewed the piece and its condition, quoted a price, and made the sale easier than expected.

ONE OF ONE's Insight

FOPE arrived in Korea only recently, so pre-owned pieces are still scarce, and the brand remains unfamiliar to most general gold shops. Many of them hesitate to buy it for that reason.

At ONE OF ONE, we have mainly handled the Flex'it line. We review the piece and its condition, then give you a clear purchase price.

Eka / Eka Tiny

Eka means "one" in Sanskrit. It was the first FOPE line to apply the Flex'it system, which is why it is often seen as the starting point of the Flex'it story, and its round mesh gives it a classic silhouette. Eka Tiny, a smaller and finer version, is popular for stacking rings and layering bracelets.

Prima

Prima is the finest and lightest of the Flex'it lines. Many designs keep the accent small and the line delicate, such as a single diamond set into a polished rondel, which makes Prima easy to layer with other bracelets.

Solo

Solo gives a contemporary treatment to Unica, FOPE's best-selling line of the 1990s. It is one of the brand's most popular Flex'it collections, with rondels in solid gold or set with diamonds.

ONE OF ONE's Insight

Flex'it is easy to resell because it stretches and contracts freely. A single Flex'it ring fits Korean ring sizes 14 to 17, which lowers the risk of a size mismatch for the next owner.

As a guide, a Flex'it ring with a current boutique price of around KRW 3.36 million typically resells at around KRW 2 million, roughly 60% of the boutique price. Actual prices vary with condition, accessories, and timing.

FOPE Care Guide

How to Care for Your FOPE Jewelry

FOPE's Flex'it jewelry moves with you thanks to tiny gold springs inside the mesh. A little care in how you wear, clean, and store it helps it stay supple and bright.

Daily Care Tips

Flex'it bracelets and rings stretch by design, so avoid pulling them hard or forcing them over a hand. Keep them away from water, perfume, cosmetics, and chlorinated pools, and wipe them with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.

Cleaning Your FOPE Jewelry

Gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth. If dirt collects between the mesh links, avoid scrubbing it yourself and have the piece professionally checked instead.

Storage Recommendations

Store each piece separately so it does not rub against other jewelry.

Maintaining Long-Term Value

Keep the original box and documents if you have them, and have the piece checked periodically. Good condition and complete accessories help a piece hold its value when you decide to sell.
